CRG, Clayco’s real estate development group, is developing a 1 million-square-foot, build-to-suit facility for Shaw Industries Group, Inc. (Shaw) in Savannah, Georgia. Plans to expand Shaw’s distribution and warehousing capacity in the area will support the company’s continued hard surface growth and its commitment to superb customer service.
“This state-of-the-art facility and site are an ideal location for Shaw to connect between the Savannah Port and its expansive U.S. customer base while building upon its existing distribution network,” CRG Southeast Partner Mike Demperio said. “Northport is the premier industrial park in the area. As a result, we see significant opportunity for Shaw Industries due to the sites close proximity to Port of Savannah and direct access to Route 21, Interstates 95 and 16.”
The new cross dock facility sits on 70 acres and will provide access to Shaw’s current operations adjacent to the site.
CRG is one of the nation’s largest real estate developers with an established portfolio of clients that includes Pfizer, Coleman, Amazon, and Walgreens. It is also developing a 832,000 square foot speculative building adjacent to the Shaw site and currently has additional land under contract in the Savannah market.
Parent company Clayco is the design-builder and its subsidiary BatesForum is the architect on the project.
