Shawn Clark

Shawn Clark serves as Chief Executive Officer at CRG, bringing over 17 years of experience in the commercial real estate industry. Shawn’s key responsibilities include developing strategic plans and ensuring their successful implementation, overseeing investment management activities, and fostering a culture of collaboration and teamwork. His expertise also extends to overseeing deal structuring, project-level financing, development management, and asset management. In addition to his leadership at CRG, Shawn also serves as Chief Strategy Officer for Clayco.

Shawn has overseen the expansion of CRG’s national footprint to seven regional offices and led the completion of over $7 billion in transactions across industrial, mixed-use and student housing developments. Under Shawn’s strategic direction, CRG has launched five fund vehicles and delivered more than 80 transformative projects.

As Chief Strategy Officer of Clayco, Shawn is focused on integrating CRG’s real estate expertise with Clayco’s comprehensive development, design, and construction platform to unlock significant opportunities for CRG and its investors to collaborate with Fortune 500 companies on high-impact projects in data centers, manufacturing, distribution, food and beverage, and life sciences.

Shawn holds a Master’s degree in Real Estate Finance from DePaul University and a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Science and Management from Clemson University.

His passion for making a positive impact extends beyond his professional life. Shawn is the founder of Illumination, an immersive theatrical event that raises awareness and funds for rare disease research. Since its inception in 2016, Illumination has raised $11 million to support its vital mission.

In addition to his philanthropic endeavors, Shawn is an active Steering Committee member for the Chicago Real Estate Awards – an event that raises funds to benefit the Greater Chicago Food Depository. In 2023, Shawn was named to Crain’s Chicago Business “40 Under 40” list and one of the “Best Bosses” by GlobeSt.com.
